What is the average cost to replace a strut mount on a 1986 240 GL?

It depends on which shop you choose and their hourly rate. Changing the mount itself isn't difficult, but getting to it takes hours, as you have to disassemble the front suspension one side at a time.

My Volvo mechanic has diagnosed worn strut mounts on my 1986 240GL and recommends used (good condition) strut mounts over new, after-market mounts. He claims that the after market strut mounts are not as good as the used OEM mounts. Any thoughts on which way to proceed? Thank you!
