97 Volvo 850

Hello so here is my problem with my 97 850 Volvo (Non-Turbo) my instrument cluster doesn't work (RPMS, Speedometer ,miles, Coolant temperature, Gas guage) doesnt work at all.

Sounds like you're not getting any power to the instrument cluster for one reason or another. It's likely a problem inside the cluster itself, but it would be worth checking all of your fuses and making sure any related to cluster function are inspected. You can be more thorough and check that the wiring harness is properly delivering 12v of power to the cluster as well but this would require removing the dash pad so you could probe connector pins in the back of the cluster. It also may be as simple as one of the pigtails not being fully connected into the back of the cluster too! Is it possible someone has been in there before?

If that sounds a little above your DIY comfort level though, I would recommend taking the car to a mechanic so they can diagnose where the problem lies. If they say it's the cluster itself, you can mail it to a company like www.southernelectronics.com to get completely refurbished! They totally rebuilt the cluster in my 1994 940 and it works like a charm now. Let me know if you have any questions.
