Muffler With Hair-Like Material?

So I thought a kitten or baby racoon may have been trapped in my 2003 S80 muffler as hair-like substance was hanging off of the muffler; apparently its the muffler glass . So what type/ brand do you all recommend I purchase? Its a 17 year old vehicle I use as a daily driver in Chicago. Thanks in advance for your input.
