I installed IPD sway bars on my 1999 S70 GLT AWD some time ago. Wow, talk about flat cornering! This AWD Volvo is heavy but understeer was reduced 55% and the tires, even with my brisk motoring, are wearing perfectly evenly across the entire contact patch!
It used to make me feel guilty regarding my brisk motoring. You know, like budget guilty. Like my wife is very understanding but us guys know how a brisk driving style would make the outside tread wear excessively. Rounding of the shoulders and reducing the shoulder/edge tread to the point that hydroplaning was inevitable. Also as little as 65% tread left in the center of the tire face.
No longer my friends! I have seen an increase of tire mileage and wet traction by a factor of 3. Wohoo!

Hey, Hey, Hey. It is the Dane (Kunstlerbild as well). Oh sadly day. The S70 (99) is nothing but a memory. All the fine (seriously) IPD stuff like sway bars and blue upper and lower mounts and the recent blue inserts for the front subframe did wonderous things like get that stupid clunk out of the rear end when going from D to R. It was gone I tells ya!
Everything was so firmed up that I thought I was a younger man!
Any how, I looked in my side mirror pursuant to a left lane change and upon looking forward OOOOHHH SSSHIITE!!! And CRUNCH!!! Seriously, why does the #1 lane have to come to a stop when somebody in #4 slows down!!!
So, long story shorter-Heh- There are way to many good and near new things to just let the thing go in it's entirety. Oh yeah, did I mention that I had just done a leak down test, you know, after it sat in the cold for four weeks? Well I did, and it was good. Nascar, some years ago stated that an engine rebuild was good only if it had less than 11% leak down on all cylinders. Well, my poor little motor with only 125,000 on it had only an 8-9 % leakdown on all 5. I never did get to test it all warmed up.
So what's my point you ask? Well, I would really like to find a decent body S70 to swap my stuff to or part this little gem out. That would include four new (1000 miles) Yokohama's finest all season radials and much other new and lightly used premium IPD and other vendors stuff. Possibly (with Kens approval) a computer performance flash. Wow, look at the time. I can be texted or talked to 253-279-8533 for commiseration or what not.
